Detroit Music Station

Linsay Gould was raised in the 1 square mile city of Olivet in southwestern Michigan, but don’t let that fool you. After honing her skills as a musician, this small-town girl took the midnight train to Detroit and teamed up with renowned record producer Yorg Kerasiotis, owner of Deathsex Record. Together they created Lin-Say, a soulful hard-to-categorize sound that is pure pop gold. She has opened for the likes of John Legend in Las Vegas, Nevada, was a smash hit at Austin, Texas’ SXSW Conference, and her debut album “Shut Up and Pick Me Up” launched to rave reviews across the nation this past year.

Now we’ll get a chance to see her perform this Thursday night, November 3, at Mid-Town Detroit’s newly-renovated Magic Stick Theater. She is bringing with her a slew of talented musicians including legendary bass player T-Money Green, soul/pop artist Britney Stone, electro/soul artist Martinez, hip-hop artists Weirdoz Gang and new pop sensation Dominique Pari. Yorg, himself, is expected to perform along with guitarist Deondre Richmond. Tickets for this extravaganza are just $15 and are available at Ticketmaster or at the door. Or you can call Pen Media at 313-NET-2212 for more information and/or tickets.

Lin-Say just released a new single entitled “2Thou” that was produced by Freddy Blackson and Duke Fakir, Jr. Here is the official 2Thou music video for your enjoyment. This should get you through until Thursday night.
